Lady Gaga isn’t just gonna marry the night—she’s also gonna marry Michael Polansky.
As seen on TikTok, the Grammy winner confirmed her engagement to the investor at the 2024 Paris Olympics—where she performed during the Opening Ceremony—by introducing him as her “fiancé” to France's Prime Minister Gabriel Attal.
Although, some Little Monsters may argue the news isn’t a complete surprise. Back in April, the papa-paparazzi photographed Gaga wearing a diamond ring on that finger.
While the A Star Is Born actress—who was previously engaged to Taylor Kinney and Christian Carino— and the entrepreneur have kept much of their relationship private since sparking romance rumors in 2020, she has offered a few peeks into their world. Take, for instance, when Gaga noted on her birthday in March that she’s “in love" with her "best friend" and called him the “love of my life” in a 2020 interview with MSNBC.
Asked what else she wanted out of life in 2020, her initial response was simple:
"Marriage,” the singer told InStyle before elaborating, “More music, more movies, more charity with the Born This Way Foundation. I want to do way more philanthropy. I want to help fund more research about fibromyalgia and neuropathic and chronic pain by putting a team of doctors together. I have a lot of dreams and hopes. What I will actually accomplish, I have no idea, but I know that I'll be doing it with the people I love."
So if you’re ready to just dance, or just learn more about Polanksy, keep reading.
Who is Michael Polansky?
Polanksy is the CEO of Outer Biosciences—which, per its LinkedIn description, “aims to improve human health by discovering bioactives from underexplored natural sources.”
However, this isn’t the only title on his résumé. For years, Polansky has worked with Napster cofounder and former Facebook president Sean Parker to build out several organizations, including the Parker Group, the Parker Foundation, the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy, the Economic Innovation Group and ArsenalBio. He's also cofounded venture capital and investment firms like Hawktail and Avos and previously worked at Founders Fund and Bridgewater Associates.
Polanksy is a graduate of Harvard University, where he studied applied mathematics and computer science.
How long have Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky been dating?
Gaga made her romance with Polansky Instagram official in February 2020—with her noting they had “so much fun in Miami.” By that point, the couple had already been spotted getting cozy in Florida, where she performed during the AT&T TV Super Saturday Night show ahead of the Super Bowl.
In fact, a source told E! News at the time that Polansky is “the same guy she spent New Year’s with and they had already been seeing each other for weeks.”
Over the past four years, they've made several public apperances together. Polansky joined Gaga at President Joe Biden’s inauguration ceremony in 2021, where she sang the national anthem. The investor also accompanied the House of Gucci alum to the 2022 BAFTAs—where host Rebel Wilson asked if he was “Lady Gaga’s plus-one” and noted “that is a good gig”—as well as to the 2022 Grammys and a Saturday Night Live after-party in 2023.
This year, they’ve continued to prove their relationship is anything but a bad romance as they’ve celebrated the Super Bowl and 2024 Olympics by each other’s sides.
What has Lady Gaga said about her relationship with Michael Polansky?
While the “Shallow” singer hasn’t gone deep into detail, she has shared a few glimpses into their love story. Like the time she posted a photo of her and Polansky celebrating Valentine’s Day in 2020 or when she shared a selfie of them quarantining together the following month amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“Going strong,” Gaga wrote on Instagram at the time, “playing video games and cards, and taking care of ourselves.”
“The Edge of Glory” artist has also uploaded snaps of them embracing, taking in sunsets and working on the Born This Way Foundation. And while recalling the 2021 dognapping of her French bulldogs, she told The Hollywood Reporter, “Every day I thank God for the safe return of my dogs. My dogs and the man that I love are my whole life.”
But lately, Gaga has been keeping more of her personal life and artistic process private.
“I may not be sharing as much of myself online as I have in the past,” she wrote on Instagram in June 2023, “but I hope you know this time to myself has been extremely healing and recharging for my heart, mind, body, and creativity—to create within myself and to have a personal life that’s just for me.”
Has Michael Polansky inspired any of Lady Gaga’s music?
Fans began to speculate Gaga’s 2020 track “Stupid Love”—a song about being vulnerable and head over heels for someone—was about Polansky after she posted a picture of them together on an airplane to Instagram and wrote, “I’ve got a STUPID love.”

Following her 2019 split from boyfriend Christian Carino, Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky were spotted sharing a kiss on New Year's Day in January 2020.
Gaga made her new romance social media official in February 2020, sharing a photo of her sitting on Michael's lap at the Super Bowl on Instagram with the caption, "We had so much fun in Miami. Love to all my little monsters and fans, you're the best!"
Despite keeping a low profile since the start of their relationship, Gaga has let her love for Michael, an entrepreneur and former CEO of the San Francisco-based Parker Group, shine through over the years, sharing a photo of the two in March 2020 with the caption, "I've got a STUPID love."
The Oscar winner also called Michael "the love of my life" during an April 2020 interview with MSNBC's Morning Joe.
And in March 2021, he surprised her with a massive flower arrangement for her 35th birthday, prompting Gaga to share on Instagram, "I love you honey. I can't wait to be home with you and our dogs, that's all I need."
Also in 2021, following the February attack on her French bulldogs and dog walker Ryan Fischer, the "Born This Way" singer made a rare comment about her and Michael's life together, telling The Hollywood Reporter, "My dogs and the man that I love are my whole life."
Rumors of an engagement between Lady Gaga and Michael first started swirling in April 2024 when Gaga stepped out wearing a massive diamond ring on that finger. But at the time, the duo were keeping tight-lipped on the rumors.
Days after Gaga kicked off the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, performing Zizi Jeanmaire's "Mon Truc En Plumes" at the opening ceremonies, she finally confirmed the engagement, introducing him as her "fiancé" during a conversation with French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal July 28.
